What Customers Say About Urnex Cafiza, 20oz powder:

Does the job. Works best in hot water, and you only need a few sprinkles. I clean my coffee maker, but I can't reach certain nooks and crannies. I ran a cycle and got so much gunk coming off, I was grossed out thinking about the junk I might've been drinking. We used this stuff when I worked at Starbuck's. Too bad it doesn't simultaneously descale (I use a 1/2 can of soda pop Saturdays overnight).
I've used a variety of cleaners for my coffee pot, but this has to be the best ever. Works great. You can definitely tell the difference before and after.
Urnex Cafiza took away all the black gunk in my coffeemaker and was easy to use. It doesn't make the coffee taste funny if you follow the directions and run it twice with clear water.
Works perfectly with my Expobar espresso machine. I've been using Cafiza for several years and I'm satisfied how it cleans the innards of my machine.
The only trouble we ever had with it was when we used too much powder - then the powder didn't fully dissolve and had to be wiped off. This is amazing stuff - it only takes a little powder to get a lot of coffee stains off of equipment. But even then it didn't affect the taste of the espresso the next morning. It also doesn't leave a flavor behind. When I first used this I was working as a barista in a bookstore and was amazed at how quickly the powder removed a day's worth of coffee grunge from our espresso machine and coffee pots. I would say for home use, you probably don't need more than a half teaspoon to clean out a coffee pot. I will probably purchase some once it comes back in stock.
